Privacy Policy

What we don’t read

Tableword stores user-authored reflections and comments to make the app work, but we do not aggregate, analyze, or machine-learn on the content of your written reflections. Your reflections are data we hold but do not look at. This is enforced operationally: reflection text never appears in our analytics events, and our internal dashboards do not surface reflection content.

This commitment exists because what you write while studying scripture is yours. We’re not interested in mining it.

Information we collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, chosen username, and display name. If you sign in via Google or GitHub, we receive your name and email from that provider.

Profile information: Any information you voluntarily add to your profile — bio, favorite verse, tradition preference, avatar — is stored and displayed according to your privacy settings.

Usage data: We track which chapters of scripture you study (book + chapter counts) to power the “books studied” feature on your profile. We do not track individual verse interactions.

Analytics: We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous page view data. No personally identifiable information is sent in analytics events.

Payment information: Donations are processed by Stripe. We do not store card numbers. We store the amount and date of your donation and your Stripe payment ID.

How we use your information

• To provide the Tableword service (hosting sessions, saving plans, powering comments)
• To send transactional emails you opt into (comment notifications, milestone alerts)
• To process donations and track donor milestones
• To improve the service through aggregate analytics

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account. Deletion is permanent and cascades to your profile, study history, plans, comments, and votes.

You can export all data we hold about you from Settings → Account → Download my data.

Cookies

We use essential cookies only: Supabase session cookies required for authentication. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

• Vercel — web hosting and edge delivery
• Pusher — real-time session sync
• Stripe — payment processing
• Resend — transactional email delivery

Each service has its own privacy policy and DPA. We have signed DPAs with each vendor.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
